Google Business Profile, Analytics and Search Console: who does what?

Understand the different jobs of your public business listing, website analytics and search reporting—and what Everstead includes.

THE USEFUL PART

These are separate resources. Connecting one does not mean the other two are configured, and none promises rankings or customers.

Business Profile is your public business listing

Google Business Profile holds public details that can appear across Google Search and Maps, including your business name, hours and service area. Its eligibility and verification are governed by Google. If you travel to customers and do not serve them at your business address, follow Google’s service-area guidance rather than presenting your home as a storefront.

Business Profile management is not part of Everstead’s standard four-page launch. Keep its website link and factual business details consistent with the site, and manage the listing through the account that owns it.

Analytics describes activity on the website

Google Analytics can report website visits and configured actions. Everstead’s connected customer sites wait for the visitor’s analytics choice before Google measurement runs. People who decline still need to be able to use the website and submit an inquiry.

Because of consent choices, blocking and implementation differences, analytics totals need not match every inquiry stored in your workspace. Check that the events you expect are actually observed. Treat a phone click as a click, and a submitted request as a request.

Search Console describes Google Search visibility

Search Console helps an owner inspect search performance and indexing information for a verified website. A sitemap gives Google information about pages you want discovered. Submission does not guarantee that every page will be indexed or rank.

Preserve useful existing verification and history. The owner should retain independent access, rather than relying on the website provider as the only person who can manage the resource.

What happens in an Everstead launch

Everstead’s package includes managed GA4 and Search Console setup for the agreed site. Existing resources are reviewed first. You supply the necessary authorized access, and the launch record confirms measurement, verification, the sitemap and your access. Optional Google sign-in inside the Everstead app is a separate connection.

Begin reporting with a small set of clearly defined numbers: visits when measurement is allowed, submitted inquiries and actual jobs from your own records. Add detail when it answers a real question. A chart with no verified data is not evidence of a working business.
